Election 2013: A Betrayal of the Public Trust…will be titled again if…

The following email dialogue between myself and local political leaders or lack of their responses is intended to add substance to the forthcoming election. But should only be considered, as part of the whole, meaning the embodiment of what other citizens in the community have to offer before Election Day. One of the biggest complaints among voters before casting votes, is the lack of real in-depth information about incumbents that goes beyond endorsements or name recognition. I feel email dialogue related to public leaders, we vote into office, is not private when related to civic matters. I offer the email dialogue below with comments, as a THINKING starting point, to think and to question beyond this writers viewpoints because critical responses must be shared and are always welcome and acknowledged in return. "Echoes" from the community is my food for thought. Without them this WebSite is useless.

The betrayal of Councilpersons against citizens centers on years of neglect in answering a variety questions, and it continues with this Website. The only difference is this site documents the neglects. Citizens expect answers and most people can understand if some of the feedback does not coincide with expectation. At times questions may be asked without comprehending the complexity of the problem, but answers that explain the confusion is just as important as direct answers. In other words when citizen questions go unanswered, it becomes a betrayal of the public trust. Politicians must think hard on the reasons for the pubic vote, and "think hard" on they reasons they vote. Below are questions on the minds of many citizens and documentation of answers, indirect answers, silence, the last being the greatest of neglects. Before walking into voting booths or voting by mail, citizens deserve to be informed with constructive knowledge from sources other then just voting on name recognition and Plain Dealer endorsements.

Issue No. 7 is "Millions of Cleveland School District tax dollars, perhaps in the 300 million range (as declared in year 2002), for years have been placed in state and local bank investment accounts. It seems the investment portfolio was more important than providing textbooks to every student in years past. How do you justify such actions?" Open Letter

Issue No. 9 - The State of education in many of Cleveland’s mainstream public schools is in need of extreme attention. Open Letter

In what area of service are you helping or can you help in partnership with parents, teachers, students and others to achieve the ultimate goal of equality in education for youth in all the schools?

Issue No. 10 - I want Mayor Jackson to honor the "Safety Belt" law of and in so doing expect you to carry out this request by reminding him of his duty to the state of Ohio. If silence continues on this matter, I will sight you as an accomplice to Jackson’s rebuff of the law. Or explain to citizens in your ward why you should not be held accountable. Issue No.11 The Healthy Cleveland program got off to a bad start because most of the Council members felt there vote to ban trans fat was the right thing to do. Do you still feel the ban on the oils in some way, complement the ideals in democracy?  Open Letter
